This blue city is a charming place with strong Andalusian connections. Chefchaouen is the most stunning town in morocco. There were many Jews and Moors who fled during the Spanish Inquisition. The visit to Chefchaouen includes a short hike to the ruins of a Spanish mosque to enjoy the fantastic panoramic view, and a visit of Ras El-Ma where we will discover the source of the freshwater of the city, which is the mountains. After that we’ll take a stroll through the great Kasbah and garden, next we’ll have time to walk along the old city and enjoy the quiet streets with the local people.
Overnight in Chefchaouen
Today we will leave the blue pearl city and head into the Middle Atlas Mountains, continuing to Volubilis. This ruined Roman city is the best preserved archaeological site in morocco. Declared by UNESCO as the world heritage site in 1977, it is featured by many amazing mosaics saved in situ. Volubilis is about 33 km north of Meknes. Continuing our way to Meknes; the sixth largest city in Morocco that’s worth the visit, we will see the magnificent Bab El Mansour, the king’s tomb site at the heart of the medina; what remains the imperial city. After we visit Meknes, we will transfer to Fes city where we’ll spend our next two nights.
Overnight in Fes
Today we’ll enjoy a full-day city tour with an official guide and during our tour, we’ll see every ins and outs of this city. First, we’ll explore the splendid city of Fes and its great medina “ Fes-El Bali ”. So we’ll start the day at the Royal palace and walk over the old Jewish quarter, across one of the towers Borj and visit the cemetery Bab-Fettouh to enjoy the panoramic view of the white sea houses of the medina. After that we’ll come to Bab Boujloud, the gate that leads to the inside medina, then we’ll move to see the oldest and most famous Tanneries in the world, here we can have a lookout to see the workers as well as they’ll be glad to tell you about the different steps of their work.
After that, we’ll visit the Nejjarine museum; the place of wooden crafts and arts and then we’ll continue to explore the traditional tools, furniture, carpets, and musical instruments. Last but not least, we’ll visit some of the spectacular ancient buildings such as the Medersas of Bou-Inania, Al Attarine, the religious school of Quran studies, Al-Karaouine mosque, AL-Karaouine university as the oldest continually operated university in the world, also we’ll visit an important historic monuments “ Idriss II tomb ”.
Overnight in Fes
Today we will leave Fes city and travel toward Merzouga desert. Passing through Ifran with its chalet-like houses called the Switzerland of Morocco. Then continue to the queen of the Medium Atlas; Azrou city. This city is famous with its Atlas cedars forest populate by Barbary apes. Ater that we will move to Errachidia. Passing through many Kasbahs and palm groves we head towards the adobe-colored city of Er-Rachidia and Erfoud. Later on, the scenery will change as well as we start seeing the golden dunes from the road. The great sand oasis of Merzouga desert. It is an amazing area of polite, apricot, colored sand extensions as far as the eye can see.
Here we will head off into the vastness of the Sahara dunes on a camel caravan. Guided by a local guide. The manly camel was a desert life pole over the centuries. And used to ship precious cargoes from Sub-Saharan Africa to the trading ports of the Mediterranean coast. We can ride or walk alongside as we reach the pace of the caravan. Led by Berber guides and marvel at the awesome spectacle of the desert and the quietness that comes with it.
As the sun sets, we will proceed to our comfort and luxury private desert camp. The desert camp sits between the golden sand dunes of the Sahara. And which gives the impression of being calm in the vast African desert. While enjoying the comforts of Saharan camp, we will enjoy a traditional dinner. Prepared by local people and followed by Berber music and a campfire under the starry African sky. Nothing compares to the millions of stars, silence, and tranquility of the Sahara desert at night. Later on, we will go to rest in luxury private tents. The tents are all en-suite with a king-sized bed feeling like stepping back into one of the stories from the Arabian nights.
Overnight in Merzouga – Desert Camp
Today we will wake up early to enjoy the magnificent sunrise of Merzouga desert Sahara. After we have breakfast and shower, we will make our trip onward to Dades. Passing through the Berber villages of Rissani and Tinjdad, then we will head into the magnificent Todra gorge. Called the Grand Canyon of Morocco “ Tinghir ”. We will see its fantastic rock walls that change colors to magical effects as the sun hits it. These 300-meter cliffs of limestone shaped weirdly and 15 meters separated from each other. We can enjoy our time in the gorge where we can often meet the Nomads. Many deserted Kasbahs, nomadic brick villages, and green oases. Later on, we will continue our route to explore Dades valley. With its charming upper view before we continue to our hotel for the night.
Overnight in Dades
After breakfast in the hotel, we will drive to Marrakech. Passing through the valley of roses; the center of Moroccan roses and rose products. Continuing along the road of thousand Kasbah, skoura oasis to Ouarzazate. “ the gate of the desert ” built-in 1928 by the french. Continue to explore the UNESCO heritage Ait Ben Hadou Kasbah. Declared by UNESCO in 1987, this Kasbah is where several famous films and series have made. Such as, Gladiator(2000), Sahara(2005), Babel(2006), Game of Thrones (2011). This fortified Ksar is located in the province of Ouarzazate in the Draa Tafilalet region of Morocco. Next, we will continue along The highest road in the Atlas mountains. Tizi n’Tishka pass to finally reach Marrakech for a restful evening
On the last day of our morocco vacation, we will get the opportunity to explore Marrakech, this city also called “the red city or city palms' '. It is an ancient imperial city in western Morocco that is known for its mosques, palaces, and gardens. Our guided tour will start by visiting the Saadian tombs, Bahia Palace, Badiaa Palace with many other interesting points.
After that, we will have a stroll around the famous world square of Djamaa El-Fna where we'll be fascinated with the snake charmers and the tastiest fresh overcrowding orange juice then we will proceed to explore the souk “market” and get the chance to see the local artisans lamp and taste the scents of all spices. Our last leg on the Marrakech tour will be at the spectacular Koutoubia mosque which was built in the 12th century and has a large square with a garden that illuminates with light during the night.
